Hi Ni Ni – That grid looks to me as intended. Would you rather have it more visible? It shouldn’t be too intrusive in my opinion.

Hi Christopher, OK, thanks. That doesn’t sound right. What resolution are you sketching in? What are the specs of your computer?

    OK. Cool.

Actually I think this will be taken care of when we get to coloring. I mean, you will be able to fill your areas with color – and those filled areas could work as a mask, if some option is turned on, – so when drawing shading/shadows/light we could have it respect that mask so you can’t draw outside of the colored areas.

    That would be great!

Thanks for letting me know Francisco. We’ll try to find a solution for alpha 3.

OK I see, Kuya. Thanks for that gif.

But isn’t that a good example of stuff you want to do in compositing later? I mean, I am not trying to make Animation Paper do everything you know. On the contrary I want it to do “one thing” but do it very well. And that is the animation it self. Using compositing for stuff like masks, blurs, layering effects, etc is best done in your favourite compositing software anyway.

Do you agree? If not, tell me otherwise and tell me why. 🙂 I am listening.

    Thanks Francisco!

What computer are you using – and what OS? Please let me have some specs. 🙂

    Hi! Thanks for signing up.

Both the download link and the activation key parts are supposed to be hidden. The system was, that you had to wait for the next update (up to a few weeks, depending). Then you would receive an email with the new update for you to download.

But I want to change that soon, so people will get the download link right away.

Let’s do that for you right here. Here you go: https://animationpaper.com/download-pre-release/

Others reading this are welcome too!

After downloading and installing, when you run Animation Paper for the first time, you click the link in the small activation-key-window coming up. Following the link you register and get your free activation key. And you are all set.

    Enjoy!

Great to hear it worked, Peter – so far it has worked for everybody experiencing this to just try again later. Still we need to make Animation Paper not require this of course.

Yes, that is an option I have thought of many times my self. But as you know, we need to keep Animation Paper clean and simple. If it was to be done in a good way, it could be an idea for one of the next major releases. We’ll see. 🙂 Thanks Julien.

By drawing I mean the whole frame worth of lines, but only in the one layer. In Animation Paper we call that a “drawing”. The combined “drawings” from ALL your layers we call the “frame”. Drawing is in one frame, but only one layer. Frame is all the layers combined. I hope I’m not messing that explanation up. 🙂 Anyway the lassoed selections are kept in memory for various good reasons as an entity. Having many of them in the same drawing will cause it to slow when you need to pick up or stamp even more.

Undo does the same lasso calculations but in reverse, so it will be slow too in those situations. But again, only when doing these problematic lasso stamps.

So in general, in all other situations, Undo will be fast. Let me know if you find a situation where it is not.

There was a bug in Alpha 1 in the exporting of Simple Unbroken Sequence. Maybe you tried it with Alpha 1? With Alpha 2 we fixed that bug and this is probably, I’m guessing, why it works for you now.
