    How can I see just the key frames of a layer? (like, for making a storyboard or animatic)

    You mark a drawing (frame) as key by hitting K.

    If you go into “Customize Backlight” you can check “Only Backlight Key Frames”.

    Now you only see just the key frames (and the frame you are currently on of course).
