Another pen pressure issue
Quote from Oranguin on October 6, 2025, 4:43 amHi there!
My pen pressure issue is a little different from the previous posts. The pen pressure quality is inconsistent. Sometimes it gives me the smooth line with varying pressure that I want, but sometimes it gives me a jittery line with no pen pressure at all. It's essentially a gamble whenever I use the pen. Trying to use my mouse, while it obviously doesn't give me pen pressure, does give me the smooth line I'm looking for, meaning the problem is definitely with my tablet pen.
I'm on a Huion tablet, tried experimenting with the Windows Ink box, made sure I had the latest version of AP, and moving the qt.conf file left me unable to open the program.
Would there happen to be any known workarounds to this one, considering the issue is slightly different?
Thanks!

Thanks for getting on contact. When does the change from pressure working to not working, and back again, occur? Is it randomly changing while using AP or is it in one way when opening the program and in the other next time you open it? Or in some other way? I hope we can figure out what is wrong having more details.
I will ask our programmer Frederik to take a look at this post of yours, maybe he can come up with a test and a solution. Maybe he has additional questions 🙂
We'll get back to you! Thank you!
Best,
Niels

Removing the qt.conf is no longer a usable workaround for enabling windows ink in AP (as you found out).
To toggle AP's use of windows ink there is now a checkbox called "Use Windows Ink" in the Settings. Window menu -> Settings... -> Use Windows Ink.I'm not sure that your problems have anything to do with Windows Ink though, since the "jittery line" thing doesn't really match that.
I hope you can find a reliable way to reproduce the problem, so we can troubleshoot better.Kind regards,
Frederik

@ Niels: I'm not entirely sure why the switch happens. I've tried using my pen at different angles too, but as far as I can tell it seems to be random. I'd tried reopening the program too, but that didn't help.
@ Frederik: I think this actually fixed it? In the meantime, thanks! Other than that though, because of the random nature of the swap, I can't think of a way to fix this other than to turn off Windows Ink again. If it matters, for further clarification, my tablet is a Huion Kamvas 22, don't remember if it's plus or not. And by the jittery line, I more mean the pen didn't have a stabilizer without the pen pressure. It always either had both pen pressure and a stabilizer, or neither.
Thanks for the help! Here's hoping further development goes smoothly!
