Cloning & Transforming multiple frames
Quote from Jombo on September 5, 2025, 3:47 pmHello,
From the short time I've testing this app, it feels very good and solid. I've only used blender for 2d animation and i can feel that currently vector does not fit my workflow (unless it's clean up).
I apologize if this was answered in the video or the forum, as i could not find any. I'm wonder 2 things:
Is there a way to add clones on multiple selected frames? I believe in OpenToonz there's a right click option to set the frames on 1s, 2s, 3s. And in blender you can select the multiple frames and use S (scale) for adjustment.
Another thing, if there's a way for me to move multiples drawing frames? For example I had 5 drawings that needed to shift a bit to the left side, it's a bit tedious to move individual drawings one by one.
Thank you for creating an awesome software. Can't wait to buy full release!

Yes, you can select multiple drawings (click the first, hold Shift and click the last) - and then choose "Add Clone after each Selected Drawing" in the Edit menu. Alternatively right click your thumbs in the X-Sheet to get to the same menu item - or you can use the keyboard shortcut ' (apostrophe).
Moving multiple drawings in one go is not possible right now, sorry. It is on our todo-list!
Best,
Niels

Quote from Jombo on September 6, 2025, 2:22 amHi Niels, Thank you for your reply!
I also have tried cloning multiple drawing and I would like to suggest an alternative behavior for it.
Currently when I already have multiple drawings with a clone (on 2s), I need to manually click (or drag) the individual drawings to add the clones to make it on 3s. As the when I try to select the first and last drawings it included the clones making it on 4s.
I think a toggle or a setting to change the behavior to add and remove just a single clone on multiple selected drawing and existing clones would allow faster exploration on timing. I've also attached an image how it may look like.
I can't wait for the moving multiple drawings feature in the future!
Is there currently a feature to play only a selected frames? Like from range like drawing 5 to drawing 10 (which allows the user to adjust how much it will held without cutting the playback).
Sorry if this is too much! Since currently this is the only software that I found that is just "go animate", no UI clutter just plain simple. I've come from PaintTool SAI for drawing, it's simple enough yet powerful and I got the same feeling with Animation Paper. I could not get into using Photoshop, Pencil2D or ClipStudioPaint, it's personally overwhelming.
Thanks again! I hope that this software to be successful!

I will think about this. My dilemma is always when thinking of adding more options or features, that we have to be careful not making AP confusing and cluttered in the process. This is super important. We'll see.
"A feature to play only a selected frames?" I'm not sure exactly what you mean. We do have the Range, that might do what you are thinking? You can set your Range (below the Timeline) to see only from frame, say 5-10, and when you play it is only that range that is played. But maybe this is not what you mean?
Thanks,
Niels
