Hi,

I’m trying to install Animation Paper v5.0 Alpha 3.1. I keep getting the error:

“Setup Failed.

0x80070666 – Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue. To configure or remove the existing version of this product, use Add/Remove Programs to the Control Panel.”

I did previously have PAP v4 installed, but I have removed it and rebooted my computer. Error still occurs.

Windows 10.

Hi Quinn,

Technically PAP v4 is a completely different software, so it doesn’t make a difference to Animation Paper if it is already installed or not. So it must be something else that is the problem.

Are you sure you haven’t installed Animation Paper (maybe an earlier alpha release) already and that is why it is suggesting to remove it?

100% positive this is the first time I’ve installed Animation Paper. Regardless, it’s not in the list of Apps to remove.

OK, thanks. I have no idea why this happens – and I haven’t heard of this problem before. I must investigate and hope to come up with with a solution. I’ll get back to you… 🙂

He said, if AP won’t run after installation, please install this too: https://aka.ms/vs/16/release/vc_redist.x64.exe

The HOSPITAL?! Good lord, man…it wasn’t THAT pressing of an issue! I hope you’re okay and well into recovery.

Incidentally, Frederik’s solution worked. I did have to install the VC package, but it is now up and running. Thanks for all your help!
