Easycanvas is an app (ios) that allows the ipad to be used as a drawing tablet when attached to PC by USB cable and the desktop server is installed. It works in every program from microsoft paint, clip studio paint, opentoonz etc. I can use the animation paper menu etc
from the ipad screen (using apple pencil) but drawing does not work.

Not sure if it is your end or their end.

    Cheers

Hmmm, OK. Thanks for reporting this. I guess we will need to try it here and see if we can do or change something to make it work. Added to our todo-list! Thank you!

    Thanks Niels

Not sure if this is relevant but I got this reply from the developers.

“Currently the EasyCanvas program uses “Windows Ink” API.

Therefore, You can only use it in the program that supports the Windows Ink API.

If it does not work, that program could not support the Windows Ink API.

I will try to make a better program”

It got me thinking. So I turned on

“let me use my pen as a mouse in some desktop apps”

    and now it works.

In another post I think you mentioned that this option will not allow pressure sensitivity
but being a very simple animator that doesn’t really concern me.

    Cheers

OK, happy you found your own solution. But not having pressure-sensitivity is not optimal. If it works for you now, good. But I will still see if we can find a good solution…

BTW we have tried supporting Windows Ink, but we let it go again, because it introduces all kinds of irritating behaviour with overlays and stuff that makes it frustrating to work with. In my opinion.

Actually, if you go to your folder where you installed Animation Paper (probably “c:/Program Files”) you can find a qt.conf file. If you rename that to something else (so you can rename it back if needed) – and run Animation Paper again, it should actually now use Windows Ink! Interesting to see if that works with pressure and all for you?

Thanks Niels. I tried that and also unticked “let me use my pen as a mouse in some desktop apps”.
I can draw but Unfortunately no pressure sensitivity.
