ParticipantI keep accidentally hiding the layer, and it’s really confusing when it happens ’cause the drawing disappears and I’m not sure why. And I try to draw, it won’t let me and there’s a cryptic cursor.
I guess in hindsight, now I know it was telling me the layer was hidden. Then I had to check. And I had to check how it happened and it turns out I’ve been pressing

from habit, which is harmless in most other programs. This wasn’t the first time it happened but this is the first time I figured it out. The last few times, I just closed the program thinking it was a bug.I guess I’m excited to unbind that shortcut but I don’t know if this is an opportunity for better UI feedback when a layer is hidden. ’cause when I had the hunch, looked at the top of the X-sheet and it didn’t look wrong. I really had to question if I was in some kind of special mode (eg, Photoshop’s quick mask) or the layer was locked or what.

KeymasterI understand. Yes, with any function and shortcut, there’s always the risk that hitting it by accident will make the software do something that is not clear to you.
But I guess, it will help, as you say, that keys you have a habit of hitting unintentionally can be disabled (when we get that functionality done).
By the way, I am happy you found out what happened after all. I hope it is a matter of getting used to – at least for now.
