January 14, 2025 at 6:04 pm #7584cevikParticipantThank you Niels! I totally understand your corcerns on UI and your sensitivity that makes this software so awesome. I love it and wanted to mention it once more.Thank you.
Some people are color sensitive and not able to see all colors as we do. So in my humble opinion it would be best to give them option to choose as they desire. You already have a menu for backlight and sliders to arrange its opacity. May be in a same way users could click on these bars and choose from a pop up menu etc? Â You know technical or UI side possbilities or limitations of this much better. Best,

January 14, 2025 at 5:31 pm #7583cevikParticipantSelecting lasso and deleting inside would not bother me much before, as I used to do it on Toonboom or similar softwares but I have to mention that after Clip Paint I absolutely became fan of lasso eraser and suggesting it. In Clip Studio while I am drawing, I just click Ctrl(or any modifier I desired) tool turns into a lasso eraser and when I am done I just release the ctrl and continue drawing. This might be a small detail but believe me while drawing every milisecond counts 🙂 If Animation Paper have this, I will definitely start thinking Animation paper as a sketching tool as well.
Modifier keys are great by the way and with custom keyboard shortcuts any software become extra powerful. I am not sure if there is a technical issue behind on avoiding custom shortcuts to users. With this ability we can use gaming keyboards, joypads etc as we want and it is very useful for pro artists that are using software all day. And more some software also started to offer many custom key options for the same tool as well which is awesome! Might be seems like a detail but ergonomics are important and everybody has unique ways as their creativity.
Thanks

January 14, 2025 at 4:43 pm #7579cevikParticipantHi,
I also like to draw with colors but being not able to see black lines with hue inbetweens would cause some problems in my case, especially in clean up.
First of all, this became a habit for me too because hue inbetweens is a standard on every pro traditional animation software and very useful to me. If there would be different better  technique of course I am open to break this habit. Here I’ll try to explain the issue.
Let’s assume we animate on color pencils and start to clean up with black. 1st we clean the keys on a different black – clean up layer. Then we start to clean the inbetweens. Regarding to our colored inbetweens there might be an advantage of viewing cleanup on an other layer only in black but the problem is generally clean up artists do not need animator inbetweens (in general). They are done for to have glimpse of the final look. Clean up artists draw their own inbetweens unless some special cases. And in grayscale onion skin frame case it seems useful to distinguish cleanup from other layers only but the previous and next drawings are more important to me. I think it would be great if Animation Paper at least offer an option to hue black layer for generic users. Further more if these colors would be customizable (if we can choose which color we want for backward and forward separately) Â that would be super!
I’d be happy to explain in more details if above I couldn’t picture enough.
Best,
Ridvan

January 7, 2025 at 8:55 am #7532cevikParticipantGreat, thank you! I didn’t know Esc cleans the inside of the scene. This is how I used to do on Toon boom as well. Addition to that , what I meant is having it with just a click instead of double. Clip studio has this tool and very handy once got used to it.

January 6, 2025 at 12:43 pm #7504cevikParticipantHi Niels,
Thank you and I’d like mention that I am excited while I am using your software as well. Especially to this smart UI with focusing on real animators needs. Â I was just able to do a walk cycle immediately without worrying about the panels and tools.
By the way, it’s also so useful where you placed light table indicator ( and love the small leds on the timeline). While it’s on I immediately been noticed it (likewise the mirrror.) . Addition to that my hand goes on to click it to “turn light table off” Â when I am done with using it. I am not sure to “turn on” there would be a icon needed there ( for the sake of usability and simplicity, I am sure you already better thought of that) but clicking it to just turn off might be useful I think.
Thanks again and all the best!

January 3, 2025 at 7:33 pm #7488cevikParticipantHi,
So many layers are frustrating to me as well. If possible, to be able to “create folder option for layers” with the “locking” feature you just mentioned above would be great!

January 1, 2025 at 9:48 pm #7481cevikParticipantAddition to that, wacom’s pan/zoom function also allows me to slide xheet (almost like a hand tool which I just example in another topic). It works nearly fine but sure  have the same issue that moves further from the nib.

January 1, 2025 at 7:36 pm #7480cevikParticipantThat’s great! It would be super handy! By the way is that possible to search forum with the keywords so I can avoid mentioning things you are already working on? For example, recently thought that it would be useful to be able to move xsheet with the hand tool. I am not comfortable to use corner sliders in general. Probably this also be mentioned before.
Thanks,
Ridvan

January 1, 2025 at 7:23 pm #7479cevikParticipantHi Niels,
Sure, you’re welcome! I’ve just checked with Clip Studio my both displays and there is no problem there. Drawing moves exactly with the nib.
