Can't Use Animation Key

Howdy howdy, i'm not entirely sure how the beta version of Animation Paper works so if it just naturally expires after a while of usage and i'm not supposed to use it after that you can ignore this.

If I am still allowed to use it because the complete version isn't out yet tho, I have a bit of a funny issue here.

Some time back, I lost my wifi (internet provider charging too much can't afford it that sorta deal) and have been stuck conducting all of my online business purely off of mobile data.

Recently, Animation Paper asked me for another activation key despite me having already inputting one quite a while ago, i've been able to use the program just fine before it asked again.

Now on account of the lack of wifi, I can't exactly click the link on the pop-up to get a new activation key considering I cannot open any web pages anymore.

Am I screwed?

Is there a workaround?

I really like the way Animation Paper works (especially considering it's Linux friendly, i've been using the appimage version for ubuntu) so i'd hate to stop using it but i'm in a bit of a tough spot here huh?

Hi R3nova,

Thanks for asking about this! Your activation key and license for AP will work fully and is valid for the entire beta period. No need to get a new key (it will generate the same anyway). However, AP must be able to check for your license (online) once in a while to confirm it. That means that AP will allow being offline for a while, but not infinitely. Is there a way you could go online briefly, maybe through your phone? You just need to run AP once and then you can be offline again. 🙂

Let me know if this is an option for you?

If not, we can ask @frederik (AP programmer) if he can suggest a better solution.

Best,
Niels

Unfortunately I can't be online briefly since i'm running on an old desktop computer and my phone plan doesn't allow for tethering anyway.

I would really appreciate another solution though, thank you for the response.

Hi again R3nova, just to let you know, Frederik is trying to find a workable solution for you. It might not be possible, so please don't get your hopes up. We want to help though, and with luck he may be able to figure something out... We will be back...

Alright, I appreciate the help even if there isn't a solution.
