Pen pressure levels
Quote from Rulomileg on May 15, 2025, 4:30 pmI'm having trouble setting the pressure levels on my Huion pen. I can't differentiate between different pressure levels. I always get the same line quality. What can I do? Thank you.

Welcome to the new forum! 😉 A few followup questions...
So, are you saying that you don't get any pressure sensitivity at all? Always the same line thickness? Or is it more subtle than that?
Did it work as intended in the previous version (Alpha 8.1)?
I must admit we haven't tested the beta on a Huion lately. It used to work just fine.
Thanks,
Niels

Quote from Rulomileg on May 16, 2025, 3:31 amThanks Niels, I have solved the problem, I had to enable the Windows Ink box on my Huion tablet.
And it was precisely that problem that you asked me, it had the same pressure sensitivity and the same line thickness.
But now I can draw correctly.
Problem solved.
Thank you very much for your attention Niels.
Kind regards!
P.S. I can now use the menu with my pencil. THANK YOU!

Quote from Niels on May 16, 2025, 6:44 amThat's great! Thanks for letting me know. We have done a lot of improvements under the hood for Animation Paper, since last release, so I'm glad the menu works for you now.

Quote from mo on July 28, 2025, 2:25 pmHello Niels,
I was having the same issue (no pressure sensitivity) with a Wacom Cintiq 13HD dtk-1300 on windows 11 pro.
Turning on windows ink under Wacom Tablet propreties solved the problem. Having windows ink on is not great because of the circle that appears when working.
Everything else seems working fine, it s great to see the software being in beta, it is really moving forward
cheers

Quote from Niels on July 29, 2025, 5:31 pmHello Mo, there’s also another workaround. Maybe that will work better for you… Find the qt.conf file where your animationpaper.exe file is installed. Rename it or move it away (in order to save it, if you need to revert this). Relaunch AP. Let me know if this works and if the Ink drawbacks are removed.
Thanks, Niels

If I move or rename the qt.conf file I cannot start the software.
This is the error message: "This application failed to start because no QT platform plugin could be initialized."

Quote from Niels on July 31, 2025, 4:58 pmOK. I have done an altered qt.conf file - please try this instead: https://animationpaper.com/files/temp/qt.conf
(i.e. download it and put it in the same folder as your animationpaper.exe file)
Let me know if this makes any difference?
Thanks,
Niels
