Shortcut keys

Is there a way to customize shortcut keys? Like for instance, instead of hitting the spacebar for navigate the canvas and play the animation, I can create a separate shortcut for to navigate the canvas and leave spacebar for to play the animation. Is it possible that I can change the shortcut keys?

Thanks for your question! Changing the keys is on our todo-list for later. Right now, it is not possible to change them, sorry.

Did you know, that for navigating the canvas, you can also hold H, R and Z (for Hand, Rotate and Zoom). For many this works better than the Space bar, because each move have its own key.

Another alternative that IS configurable is the Speed Dials. Hold S (or Shift S) to get to them and then do a quick gesture with your pen to select an item. You can customise which icons/tools you need in the Speed Dials. Maybe this can also help you?

@niels is there a date for when the shortcut keys can be changed/when the update is coming?

No, sorry. We don't have fixed dates for our releases, because we want to stay flexible and unforeseen challenges occur regularly 🙂

However, the shortcut setup feature is definitely prioritized on our list. Still, it is competing with the coloring features, which are also important.

I hope the customizable shortcut keys will come soon. I'd also like to dedicate the Space for just Play (press once) and Hand tool (hold) because that combined Hand/Rotate/Zoom tool does really not work for me like that. I always seem to grab either the Rotate or Zoom tool instead of the Hand tool when my hand is already in motion with pen and hitting Space in order to simply move around. Is there any way to turn this combined tool feature off?

Hi Juhani,

We will strongly consider doing a Setting to turn the combined tool off. That's a good idea - and should be quite quick to implement. Thanks a lot for suggesting it! I like it a lot.

EDIT: Keep an eye out for the next release - we might have it included by then already. I can't tell you when it will be released though, so please don't ask 😀
