KeymasterHi Bahadir! Look! Your message turned up! 😉 Just really weird that it took about a week. 🙁 I am so much looking forward to going live with our new (and much better) website, that I have been working on for some time now.
Thanks for your good suggestions! All have been noted.
The frame number thing I completely get. I sort of consider this a bug – so it is being worked on as we speak, and should be fixed for our next release.
The scale option for Shift And Trace, we already have on our todo list. However, it is not planned for the next release, since we have plenty of more urgent issuers right now 😉
The two last suggestions, I need a bit more information to understand exactly what you mean. Can you elaborate a little on what would make the pencil settings better for you? And what exactly is it you would lock on layers? Changing timing? Drawing on it? Something else?
Thanks a lot for all your support for our project!
Best,

KeymasterI think it only works with stills. But you can link to a video – like a YouTube video or a movie file hosted somewhere else.
Is that a possibility for you?

KeymasterHi Ben! I’m not sure when you actually wrote this? This forum software is driving me crazy. Some messages get lost. I just found yours by accident. Really sorry if you have been waiting. I am working on setting up a completely other message-system.
But to answer your question! 🙂 It is a deliberate design choice that when using “Slide mode” you can drag your original drawings up and down (adjusting timing), but not change their place in the sequence.
To do what you are asking, you should use cut/paste. So, do it like this:
1) Click the first drawing (click the thumbnail in the X-Sheet) and press Ctrl X.
2) Click the position where you want it moved to (in your example – the 3rd, blank, thumbnail). Press Ctrl V.
That’s it. Your drawing will now be inserted (your 3rd blank drawing will remain, but move one down) – exactly like your example shows.
For Mac users, use Cmd X and Cmd V (not Ctrl).
Thanks,

KeymasterThanks Dungeon. Animation Paper will be $79 usd when we finally release it after the beta period. Looking so much forward to it!! This cost is a one time fee (life time license, no subscription). First thing after this we will finish the paint/coloring features – which will be a free upgrade for all Animation Paper license owners.
After that, we will of course continue developing, with exciting features such as camera tweening, fine nudging of lines, a more advanced brush system, etc, etc. Some new features will be included as free point updates, but looking further into the future, we plan to do larger updates, that people can choose to buy.

KeymasterThank you! We support Win10 (1809 or later).
We’re on track for the first beta version this February, which is super exciting!
The beta period will then run for a few months (finding and fixing possible bugs). Then we’ll finally be able to release the finished version (called v5.0) and we can start selling licenses and hopefully get an income 😉 First thing after that is v5.1 that is a free update with all the color and paint features.

KeymasterIn order to support the latest hardware and OS versions, we have to let go of the older systems. I’m sorry.
I can help you to get one of the previous releases, if you don’t have it already?

October 21, 2024 at 9:27 am #7251Niels
KeymasterHi Luis,
We would love to make it work on Win7 – however AP is built using QT as a framework, meaning that we need to follow what QT supports. They used to support Win7 years ago, but doesn’t anymore unfortunately.
It will be difficult for us supporting Win7 in the future – even though AP runs quite well on older hardware. I’m sorry.
Thanks,

KeymasterThanks for your good suggestions Vizzy! As you guessed they have been requested many times before, but that just validates them even more. Coloring, including fill tool, color picker and a full color palette is the first thing we are going to finish after version 5.0 that we are working on now. Also a good brush system, is on our todo list.
Your first suggestion with shapes (like rectangle, oval, etc) is something I have deliberately stayed away from. My reason is that I want to keep Animation Paper feeling less technical and have that “analogue” vibe, – so I tend not to have numbers, percentages, measurements, vectors, etc in your face. It is basically about drawing, animation, timing. And keeping you, as the animator, in the zone, so you can do your best work without getting distracted, confused or disturbed all the time. Drawing a rectangle or circle, by hand, is most often fine and the simplest and fastest way forward in my mind. I appreciate, not everybody will think like this. So I am not saying “never” 🙂 I hope you see where I am coming from? Please let me know your thoughts. I am super happy to be challenged on this view of mine. Please explain to me why shapes are important to you – if they are.
Much appreciated! Thanks,

KeymasterThat is very cool! Thanks a lot for showing it.
I am having a lot of problems with this forum software. I am very sorry, because I only saw your post just now. I am supposed to get notifications, when new users have a post for me to approve. I never got the message. I am also deleting tons of spam every day – so I am working on a new solution. I am sorry you were a victim of this mess.
Still, I am glad you posted your work, and that I stumbled across it so everybody will be able to watch.
Thanks,

KeymasterThanks Herb. I see no immediate reason for why it wouldn’t run on the Spin 1. Anyway… Glad it at least works on your new system.
