In reply to: Issues with Animation Paper Alpha 8.1
June 6, 2024 at 10:52 pm #6687NielsKeymasterThank you very much for this detailed information JalenR11. Much appreciated. You have already helped us a lot finding out what is wrong here. I’ll discuss this with Frederik, our lead programmer, and see what he finds.
Thanks again!

June 3, 2024 at 10:46 am #6656NielsKeymasterThat’s exciting Ezekiel! Best of luck with your project!
I would recommend taking advantage of the OCA (Open Cell Animation) format, so users can export/import their x-sheet timing data, etc.
As I’m sure you are already aware, we are going to implement coloring with fill etc as a free update (in version 5.1 or 5.2) soon after the version we are working on now (5.0).
Thanks a lot Ezekiel!

In reply to: I’m having troubles opening my files
May 24, 2024 at 4:59 pm #6639NielsKeymasterHi Michael. It sounds like a corrupted file. AP should definitely be able to load any ap file – even though it could have been made with an earlier alpha version.
If you don’t mind, you are welcome to email me your ap file, so we can take a closer look at it. We might be so lucky that the file can be partially fixed and then will be able to load. But it depends.
If you by any chance have a backup of your file, it would be the best option to get it back that way. But if not, feel free to send it to me. My email address is the one you got your activation key from.
Crossing fingers for you getting your animation back!
Best,

In reply to: How to move first drawing in a layer down?
May 19, 2024 at 11:23 am #6630NielsKeymasterThanks for asking Kasey! There’s a few ways, but I would do it like this…
1) While standing on your first drawing, do an Insert Blank Drawing. This will result in a new blank above/before your first drawing.
2) Drag down on the new blank, to do 3 clones. Now your drawing is on frame 5.
I hope this all makes sense.

In reply to: Exporting movie with audio doesn’t seem to be working
May 16, 2024 at 3:31 pm #6625NielsKeymasterOther options would include installing Animation Paper on a friends computer and export your ap file from there. Also you are welcome to send your files to me, so I can do it. But of course the easiest would be to just have it work on your own system. Hopefully we are ready with the update in time for your deadline.
I think you are right about it not having to do with the size of the file/animation. Thanks for testing it though and letting me know.

May 16, 2024 at 1:36 pm #6623NielsKeymasterThanks for getting back to me with this. Appreciated.
Haha, know the feeling about technology 😉
Strange that the audio isn’t in complete sync when you play the mp4.
We are getting pretty close to releasing an update (Alpha 8.1) – mostly a lot of updating internal libraries, fixing bugs, etc. This update might fix the problem you face exporting with sound. So let’s see. It will be soon…
In reply to: Exporting movie with audio doesn’t seem to be working
May 16, 2024 at 9:21 am #6621NielsKeymasterThanks a lot for sending over your ap file. I have exported it successfully to mp4 including the audio and emailed it back to you. So apparently the issue is not with the file, but probably because of some anomaly in your setup. Of course we want everything to work fully (also on your computer), so I will be discussing this with Frederik (lead programmer) and get back to you…

May 13, 2024 at 10:08 pm #6620NielsKeymasterBTW: If your ap files are large, please use wetransfer.com or some other means to get them to me.
In reply to: Exporting movie with audio doesn’t seem to be working
May 13, 2024 at 10:05 pm #6619NielsKeymasterLet’s see if I can export it here on my computer. It aught to work equally well on both our computers, but something is obviously wrong. So it will be intersting to see if your files can export correctly here or not. If you don’t mind? Please send your ap files to me (Niels). You already have my email address – it’s the one you got your activation key from. (I don’t write it here because of spambots picking it up).
If it works for me, I can of course send the working mp4 files back to you. And hopefully we can find out what the problem is too and fix it.
Thanks a lot for all your help and feedback!

May 13, 2024 at 3:28 pm #6616NielsKeymasterDo you have the latest version (Alpha 8)? This sounds like a problem we had earlier, that got fixed with Alpha 8. Please let me know which version you are using.
The latest version can be downloaded here: https://animationpaper.com/download-pre-release/
If you did indeed use an older version, please go ahead and install the latest. Your AP file will load just fine in the new version, but hopefully you will now be able to export without any problems.
Thanks,

April 28, 2024 at 5:19 pm #6591NielsKeymasterThanks for writing Joseph. Do you, by any chance, have a PC with an older onboard graphicscard? Please get back to me with what kind of graphics hardware you are using – I think I have a solution for you.
Thanks,
Niels
