Oh, yeah, and this special one: Hold Return (aka Enter) for Return Flip! 🙂

Actually this springloading is all over the place in Animation Paper already!

Hold Space, Hold Alt and Ctrl (or Cmd on Mac). Hold E to get to eraser settings. Hold D for draw settings. Hold S for the Speed Dial, hold H, R or Z for Hand tool, Rotate or Zoom to name what springs to mind.

    Did you know about these?

    Thanks for this info Goran!

I does seem, though, like it will work if you just try again later without changing anything. This is strange, but that is how it has been for all the ones (6-8 people) I heard about having this problem. It sounds like some kind of glitch in the connection or something – maybe at our end.

We are looking into why this happens. But at least it seems to be possible to overcome for now with a little patience.

    Cheers,
    Niels

Oh, about the cursor designs! Could you elaborate a little on which types you like? Maybe we can improve something here.

    Cheers,
    Niels

    Hi Paul,

Thanks for you nice words after all 🙂 I’m sorry if Animation Paper is useless to you. I guess I can’t make everybody happy 🙂

Yes, in my design of the software I am sticking to how the traditional exposure-sheet was layed out – having layers as columns next to each other. Animation Paper is in that sense very old school.

However, we might do an option to switch this around. But that will be in a future update.

Thanks Aneesh. We’ll see what we can do. We might have a solution for the next alpha if all goes well.

Yes, preferences are not implemented yet. And that includes the ability to customise the keyboard shortcuts. This will come in a following alpha update though.

However, for now, did you notice the Q and W keys? They are an alternative to exactly the up/down arrow keys. And they are better positioned (to the left) on the keyboard if you are using your right hand to draw with.

Check out the keyboard shortcuts for more info. You get to them in the Help menu of Animation Paper.

    Hi Aneesh,

    Thanks for this!

I know it works for some. But it is entirely possible that not all kinds of touch screens are supported. We will work on that.

What kind of laptop do you have? Specs please 🙂

On my keyboard (danish) I press Alt and 8 or 9 to get [ or ]. I am not sure how you reach them on your keyboard, but be aware you may need to hold a modifier key (like I do with Alt).

Thanks Dom – At some point soon we will implement a way for you to change shortcuts and placement of tool icons. Especially defining what goes into the Tool Bar and the Speed Dials are important to many (of course).

Yes, this actually ONLY happens when (and because of) picking up (with lasso/cutter) and stamping numerous times. And ONLY if you do it numerous times in the same drawing or in copies of that problematic drawing.

You should get a warning about this in the software if it takes more than 2 seconds to pick something up. Which is insanely long. Try not to use the lasso that extensively. So, if you need to copy a drawing (frame), you do a clone of it and hit o (standing on the clone) to make it a new original. Much better than lassoing and stamping in a new blank drawing.

Then you will NOT have the slow lasso pick ups. Let me know if this works for you?

This has happened before to another couple of people. I don’t know what is causing this, other than it seems like some glitch in the connection or something. Because if you try again after a little while it suddenly works.

So please try again. Let me know how it goes.

Thanks a lot! When we get to working on this issue, I would like to return to you so we can get our attempts tested by you. That would be very helpful.
