    I do apologize.

I should have also said that the regular Frame output also supports transparency.

Use of OCA export is not required.

It’s just a useful way to preserve timing of exposures across applications that support OCA.

Here’s a quick example of a frame saved out of Animation Paper as an EXR image (colored in Opentoonz).

The transparent background would be the same in PNG as well.

I’m using PNG here but EXR is available as well and for high end graphics might well be preferred.

Here’s a quick example of exporting to OCA from Animation Paper and then importing to Opentoonz where cleanup and color fill is quickly applied.  Note the transparent (checkerboard) transparency:

I’ll add that with Animation Paper’s ability to export to Open Cel Animation (OCA) it is trivial to import the OCA into Opentoonz where it can be further cleaned up and colored all while preserving the transparency.

I believe the Alpha channel (transparency) is on by default:

If anything that will be something of a problem as Animation Paper does not yet have fill features to make parts of the image (other than linework) be opaque while the rest of the image/background is transparent.

I’m not sure what the schedule is for activating the fill features.

But the good news… Animation Paper supports transparency.

I’m interested in the answer to this question about stabilization myself.

For those that want/need additional stabilization a reasonable option is the Lazy Nezumi program in addition to stabilitization options also has rulers, guides and such for drawing.  I don’t particular like to use it as it just one more level of complexity but if I can’t get the smoothness I need out of a program I usually launch it.

Unfortunately, Lazy Nezumi is Windows only but perhaps there is an equivalent for Mac?

    Hi Craig,
    That one stumped me too.
At the bottom of the column layers is a place where we can grab the layer and move it to the right or left.
We can also adjust the transparency down there also.

    Hi Todd,
I had a similar issue but going into my pen’s settings (Wacom software) I adjusted the sensitivity and soon had the pressure over reacting greatly (too sensitive!). Toning that down (and setting up separate pen settings for use with Animation Paper… as opposed to other programs… has pen pressure working nicely.

I still don’t have the settings entirely optimized as I still haven’t got lines smoothness set to work well with my preferred speed of drawing but pen pressure isn’t an issue.

    Wayne,
    I can confirm that experience.
Initially I had a hard time finding the cursor and thought it wasn’t operating.
    Discovered it was.
After that on occasion I’d lose the cursor for awhile.

    Enjoying the program thus far.
Nice alpha release and very helpful intro videos!
