In reply to: just keyframes
January 19, 2021 at 9:07 am #3433NielsKeymasterYou mark a drawing (frame) as key by hitting K.
If you go into “Customize Backlight” you can check “Only Backlight Key Frames”.
Now you only see just the key frames (and the frame you are currently on of course).

January 18, 2021 at 9:49 pm #3429NielsKeymasterI have always wanted for users to have the ability to easily upload images to this forum – but never got around to getting it done. Thanks for suggesting it, Konstantin! The below image is a test of this new uploader. It seems to work just fine!
I just wish I had done this earlier! 😀

In reply to: Antivirus does not allow installing the program
January 18, 2021 at 7:55 pm #3426NielsKeymasterHi Konstantin,
Would your antivirus software happen to be Avast? We hear it is quite buggy and finds “viruses” where there are none.
I’m not sure how to advice you. You can of course safely install Animation Paper. However, in this situation, in order to do so you will have to turn off Avast, which is not recommended of course.
I personally don’t know Avast, but maybe there’s a setting to let Animation Paper install without disabling the virus protection in general?

January 12, 2021 at 7:20 pm #3421NielsKeymasterHello Gianmaria, sorry for answering in english. I hope that’s ok with you.
You are asking about the three build-in colors – and how to change them.
In Alpha 3 we do not have coloring done yet. Colors and painting functionality will come in Alpha 4.
The colors you see now, is simply colorcoding to distinguish the layers from each other. You can set each of your layers to one of the build-in colors.
From Alpha 4, coming out next, you will be able to create your own colors and do fill and paint, etc.
I hope that answered your question? Otherwise let me know. 😉

January 11, 2021 at 7:24 pm #3419NielsKeymasterSure. That’s also something we plan to do. Exporting X-Sheet data (timing, layers and where each drawing is used) will be exportable as some kind of XML file. We did early tests with this a while ago, and got exported png files imported directly into Final Cut Pro (on Mac) all with correct timing, layers and clone drawings.

January 11, 2021 at 6:49 pm #3418NielsKeymasterI totally agree Greg! We already have exactly what you describe on our todo list. 😉

January 11, 2021 at 8:34 am #3414NielsKeymasterHello Greg! That’s a great idea! I have noted this and will put support for external commands on our todo.
Thanks,

In reply to: animation cycle
January 9, 2021 at 11:39 pm #3407NielsKeymasterHi Pierre! Thanks for your nice words!
To take your last question first: In the current alpha version it is not possible to add clones to multiple drawings in one go. But this functionality is on our todolist and will come soon in one of the next alpha releases.
Your question about panning a background or animated cycle is also on our todolist. However it will probably not be included in this release (v 5.0) but in the next one. Stuff like panning is seen (by me) as a task done in compositing (outside Animation Paper). However, I agree it would be nice to have this capability inside AP, so … on the list. 😉

January 5, 2021 at 11:45 pm #3404NielsKeymasterThanks for mentioning this Sawyer.
This is a known issue, that we need to fix. It has to do with the setup of monitors if you have two or more monitors connected (the Huion counts as a monitor). As far as I understand, the offset problem only happens when the monitors are set up in Windows to be above each other (as opposed to side by side).
Maybe you could check this for me? Are your monitors set up above each other? Does the cursor offset problem go away with side by side setup?
Please let me know. This will help us find the problem and fix it properly.

January 4, 2021 at 11:06 pm #3400NielsKeymasterThanks for your comment and suggestion G. Rivera!
We do indeed plan to support the Surface Dial – it’s on our todolist. When we at some point get to this, it would be great to have you test out and comment on our efforts. I will get back to you when the time comes if that’s fine with you. It will probably be for alpha release 6 or 7.

January 1, 2021 at 12:33 pm #3397NielsKeymasterThanks for reporting this Tyjere!
It turns out we had a power outage New Years eve, and our license generating server unfortunately didn’t start up again properly. This has now been fixed.
So please just click the link in the small window, when you start up Animation Paper again – and you should now be able to receive your activation key.
Sorry for the trouble and happy new year!
Best,
Niels
