Hey Mike! We just updated the PC download – this should fix the two user problem:

Let me know if it now works when you install as you are used to.

    Cheers,
    Niels

    Thanks for asking Jaira!

A reverse feature is on our todo list already – so it will come in one of the next alpha releases.

But for now, I would just copy/paste the drawings one by one. Not using the lasso, but copy the whole drawing (frame). Just click it in the X-Sheet (or flip to it) and hit Ctrl C (or Cmd C on Mac). Go to the frame you want to insert it and hit Ctrl V (Cmd V on Mac).

You’ll see that the copied drawings are tintet light brown, which means they are clones of (connected to) their respective originals. So when you adjust, clean up or color your original drawings, your clones will automatically update.

Let me know if this makes sense and if it helped at all?

    Cheers,
    Niels

    Hi Jerry,

Yeah, I know, you are actually not able to slide the audio yet. This feature unfortunately got bumped to alpha 4. So it will come in the next release.

Oh, thanks for mentioning the remember the last location thing. We need to make it do that. Thanks.

    Best,
    Niels

Thanks a lot Todd! All these pieces of the puzzle help!

Thanks for reporting this Todd! I think it does sound like a pretty huge deal! (to me).

I think this only happens for some people on Windows with touch screen.

You say it’s a “quick” animation – does the length/size of the animation make a difference? Did you experience this in other situations? What about the other buttons in the same top bar – do they have similar problems?

If you have a few minutes to check this – thank you very much!

    Best,
    Niels

Hi Francisco! Are you having trouble downloading? I just checked, and everything is online and working fine at my end. I think you should just try it again.

Let me know how it goes?

    Best,
    Niels

That’s very helpful Mike! Thank you!

Yes, of course, it aught to work with installing as admin and running as any user. That’s the point. We need to fix it so it works like that. But first I wanted to confirm that that was indeed what happened, – so we can make it right. 😉

    Cheers,
    Niels

    Hi James,

Thank you very much for these points of yours!

First of all, you are not blind. 🙂 These things are not in the current alpha 3.

I do understand the need for all of them. They are already on either our todo- or our careful-consider-lists.

The slide up/down is a no-brainer, and that was actually planned for alpha3, but we unfortunately had to bump it to alpha4.

The rest is more a matter of exactly how it should work. I mean, there’s nothing technically difficult in making these features – only challenge is how to design it best, user-experience wise. I want to keep the ease and uncluttered simplicity of the software, while of course have the functionality you need as a pro animator. So it is “only” a matter of coming up with good ideas and good solutions.

I am happy to work this out for my self (it’s the most fun part of developing this software!), but I am listening if you have your own suggestions as to how it should work at the UX level. It will be super interesting to get your perspective on this.

You are very welcome to email me (my email is the one sending your activation key) or just reply here with a few thoughts. Anyway – thanks a lot James! It is really appreciated!

    Best,
    Niels

Hello again AP-User! Frederik, our lead programmer, is on the case and he has a working theory about what the problem is. 🙂 But he wants to find out something. Maybe you can answer this: Did you install, then run, Animation Paper as two different users?

    Cheers,
    Niels

No, being offline shouldn’t make a difference on the installation – everything needed is included in the initial download.

    Thanks for mentioning it though!

Thanks Ann_Annie. Others seem to have the same problem. We are looking into it – and I hope we can release a new update within a few days.

Thanks for this. Others have the same problem.

The installer is supposed to automatically install these dll’s, but for some reason on some systems it apparently doesn’t
    happen.

We’ll look into it. My guess is we can release a new installer in a few days.

    Cheers,
    Niels

    Hi Roger,

Yes, flipping one frame at a time using the arrow keys does not scrub the audio. This is on purpose. You drag the playhead back and forth to scrub.

    Cheers,
    Niels
