KeymasterThanks for your kind words Ramiro! – and for your suggestions!
The shift trick for lines is on our todo already. Also animated-gif export is coming soon. π
About the dot cursor: We actually added that because people asked for a small curser that didn’t have an indication of size. They wanted something that was as non-intrusive visually as possible. I understand that. But I also see your need for having some kind of indication of size. How would you like to see this? Could you explain in more detail to give us some ideas?
Thanks a lot!

In reply to: Is the program compatible with digital drawing table ?
August 30, 2020 at 10:32 am #3068Niels
KeymasterNo questions are dumb! Yes, Animation Paper is best when used with a drawing tablet. It is compatible with most tablets (like Wacom, Huion, etc) – and if somebody experiences problems with some particular tablet, we need to know about it, so we can make it work for all. That’s one of the important reasons for this pre-release (alpha/beta) period.
Drawing with a mouse is definitely not easy (not really possible) – if you want proper results. Also you don’t have pressure sensitivity with a mouse.
So a drawing tablet is definitely recommended!

KeymasterThanks for these comments and thoughts of your Georges! Your views on the x-sheet/timeline is shared by others too, I know. There are pros and cons. For now I’d like to keep it as it is. But we might decide to make these kind of things optional.
Most of your points are things we are planning to do some time already. π Thanks for letting me know!
Best,

KeymasterHi Socorro!
Actually exporting as a video format isn’t implemented yet. In the current alpha version (alpha 2) you are only able to export as a sequence of png’s. You can then take those png’s and convert them to a video if needed.
An alternative solution is to do a screen recording while playing your animation.
Anyway, you will be able to export as mp4 and mov prores as soon as we get it done in one of the soon following alpha releases.

KeymasterHi Alexander,
When you run Animation Paper after you installed it, a small window comes up where it asks for your activation key. In that same window there’s a link. Just click that link to register and you will get your activation key right away.

August 20, 2020 at 1:37 pm #3053Niels
KeymasterOf course. The bucket tool is planned and going in very soon. We’ve already made room for it in the menu in the version you got (as a ghosted “Fill Tool” in the Paint menu).

KeymasterThanks for letting me know Roro. I have heard from others with Win10 touchscreen laptops who have experienced the same issue. This is of course something we need to fix.
Would you mind helping me out? If you email me (my address is the one we used for sending out your activation key) – so I get your email, then I can send you internal test versions when we start fixing this problem. You see we don’t get this error our selves, so we need somebody with the error to check if our attempts at fixing it work or not.
Thanks a lot!

KeymasterHi again Layanie π We see from our logs, that something went wrong in the internet communication between you and our server. Your activation key seems to be correct, and our server did approve it, it’s just that that message somehow didn’t go through to you properly.
Anyway, could you try it again – using the same activation key – and let me know what happens?
Cheers,

KeymasterThat’s sounds weird Layanie! I will investigate to see if is something at our end.
No matter what, we will get you up and running! I’ll get back to you…

KeymasterHi Kamyk,
No problem – I understand everything you are saying. π
As long as we are in alpha and beta stage (getting it tested), Animation Paper is completely free. When we finally have the finished version you can choose to buy it for $79 USD. That is several months into the future.
Again, you can download, install and use the current version as much as you want. No strings attached. Completely free. You can keep doing this for each of our released alpha and beta test versions. Until we have the final version up for purchase. And then it is only $79 as a one time fee – if you, at that point, wish to buy).
Thanks for your interest in Animation Paper! Happy Animating! Enjoy!
