Audio functionality is acting out 😉 and has delayed us a little. But mommy & daddy told it to behave! - and things are calming down now. 😀 Soon we'll be able to release Alpha 3.

In the meantime, take a look at these recent examples of animation done with Animation Paper. If you want to show your stuff too - please do! Use #animationpaper on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc. Can't wait! 🙂

Cheers,
Niels

Hello, Niels! Let me first say I’ve never used the classic PAP much, though I’ve tested it and it lacked something for me. And of course, as with many others, I’ve also been the one keeping my eye on this blog, staying updated with the development news and has looked exciting about this development. About a month (or two) ago I’ve tested the actual version on my computer. When I tried just drawing anything on the screen, nothing came out. Furthermore, after installing the software, my Photoshop for some reason started behaving strangely, not allowing me to draw or select anything (I wonder if that was something related to the installation of the Animation Paper system files). Anyway – everything worked fine before installing the AP, but nothing happened when I used my Wacom with it. No single line appearing on a screen. What could that be? I’ve planned giving this software a go when the first commercial version appears, but now I’m stuck with the right decision… Do you think this was a temporary bug?

Thanks for trying AP out – and thanks for letting me know about this. I am not sure what happens here, but it sounds like something we need to look into. I’m not sure it is even possible for AP to change some behaviour in drivers/other software. But if it is, it is of course not meant to do that. And obviously it is meant to just work drawing lines etc. Thanks a lot! We’ll investigate.

Thank you for replying, Niels. Sorry for the late answer. I’ll keep trying it – maybe that was something related to the driver or some random Photoshop problem. I wish you and the team all the luck in the work with developing this unique piece of something that will definitely have at least thousands of users around the globe.

Thanks a lot g2d! Now that some time has passed – can you update me on how it goes today? Any difference? If you are still experiencing the same problems, please get back to me with info/specs on your system and hardware. Maybe we already did the changes needed (alpha 3 release coming soon) or we still have to test and work it out. Or maybe it is something external. We need to find out – if it is a possibility for you to get back to me soon, please do! Very much appreciated.

          Cheers,
          Niels

Hey, Niels. Just checked it with my new hardware. When I originally posted that I had Windows 8.1 with some old Wacome Graphire 4 tablet. Now I’m Windows 10 and the pen display. Drawing and all the other functions working perfectly, just tested them. Maybe there was an issue with the Wacom driver when it came to that device. I believe that model is also unsupported, though years ago you could easily obtain a replacement pen, for example, if you needed it.

We haven’t got a set date. So the answer is: When it is finished. 😉 And since we are releasing alpha and beta versions all along the way, you will always have the most complete version – even the finished version, before we declare it finished and we start taking money for it.

But to give you a ballpark – my guess is late this year or beginning of 21 if all goes well.

Yes he is! He has been very supportive of me and my ideas and efforts. Great guy. We have talked about my project (Animation Paper) and even met in person and discussed it when he was in Denmark. But unfortunately he hasn’t tried it yet (he has the link and activation key). I of course understand that he is a busy man. It’s too bad though, because I truly believe he would love it, if he just tried it.

Come to think of it! Maybe it would help if his followers asked him to try out Animation Paper! 🙂

Anyway… I need to write him again. Thanks for reminding me!

Imported frames come in as a reference layer. You can’t draw or erase in reference layers. But you can do timing, adding clones, etc.

So you need to add a new layer and draw on top of your reference.

What did you want to do?

      Best,
      Niels
