It is hard to say. You see, right now we are working on coloring, which is a major set of features, which is taking a bit of time to develop and will probably be spread on two or more alpha releases (alpha 4 and 5). After that your requests will probably be part of alpha 6 or 7. We hope to release an alpha version each month, but often it takes more than that because of unforeseen obstacles and new ideas and stuff we want to try and test. It’s development – it just takes time and it is difficult to set any release dates with this kind of project.

We aim for excellence – and it takes what ever time it takes. 😉

    I hope you understand.

    Hi Tereza, thanks for asking!

Yes, you will be able to manipulate the images you import. Like scaling and moving. This is on our todo-list. Already you can edit the timing and delete any unwanted images.

Also we plan to do an SVG importer.

Thanks for your nice words and for your support! Really appreciated.

    Best,

OK, I’m trying to understand exactly when this happens. This is important for us to be able to do something about it.

So now you are talking about the freeze, right?

So it freezes when you load your file and work just a little.

And it freezes if you start from scratch but work longer.

    Is that correct?

Any pattern in what it is you are doing in order to make it freeze?

Thanks Daniel. Yes, we know. We just haven’t come to that part yet. Support for gestures. It will come at some point during this alpha period.

    Cheers,

    Thanks for the video.

Just so I understand – the freeze does NOT appear after you start AP with a blank scene and just make a few edits. It appears after you load your file and then do some edits. Is that correct?

The blocky glitches around the lines and undo areas is something unrelated. Other people have reported this. It seems to happen only with certain older graphics cards. We are working on a solution for this problem.

    Cheers,
    Niels

    Hi Konstantin,

We haven’t yet set a minimum requirement. But your specs seem very well to me.

This must be something else. Are you able to reproduce this problem? It would be great if you could write a step-by-step on how to provoke this issue – or even do a screen-recording and send to me.

    Very much appreciated!

    Cheers,

You mark a drawing (frame) as key by hitting K.

If you go into “Customize Backlight” you can check “Only Backlight Key Frames”.

Now you only see just the key frames (and the frame you are currently on of course).

I have always wanted for users to have the ability to easily upload images to this forum – but never got around to getting it done. Thanks for suggesting it, Konstantin! The below image is a test of this new uploader. It seems to work just fine!

I just wish I had done this earlier! 😀

    Hi Konstantin,

Would your antivirus software happen to be Avast? We hear it is quite buggy and finds “viruses” where there are none.

I’m not sure how to advice you. You can of course safely install Animation Paper. However, in this situation, in order to do so you will have to turn off Avast, which is not recommended of course.

I personally don’t know Avast, but maybe there’s a setting to let Animation Paper install without disabling the virus protection in general?

Hello Gianmaria, sorry for answering in english. I hope that’s ok with you.

You are asking about the three build-in colors – and how to change them.

In Alpha 3 we do not have coloring done yet. Colors and painting functionality will come in Alpha 4.

The colors you see now, is simply colorcoding to distinguish the layers from each other. You can set each of your layers to one of the build-in colors.

From Alpha 4, coming out next, you will be able to create your own colors and do fill and paint, etc.

I hope that answered your question? Otherwise let me know. 😉

Sure. That’s also something we plan to do. Exporting X-Sheet data (timing, layers and where each drawing is used) will be exportable as some kind of XML file. We did early tests with this a while ago, and got exported png files imported directly into Final Cut Pro (on Mac) all with correct timing, layers and clone drawings.

Hello Greg! That’s a great idea! I have noted this and will put support for external commands on our todo.

    Thanks,
