That is interesting. That it is not appearing at all is strange behaviour. I will have to get back to you on this…

Using the lasso much in the same drawing is one thing. Working in 4K is another.

The good news are that you should work in a resolution that is not too demanding for your hardware – and when you at some point want to export your finished animation, you can always just scale up to 4k if that is what your output requires. Everything will scale up perfectly without blurring or leaving artefacts. So no need to struggle with a too high resolution and slow feedback.

Yes, if you have a spare email please try that too. The name you can keep 😉

It’s not that there is anything wrong with your email 🙂 I just want to rule out various things. Maybe the way our license server connects with your computer is strange for some reason.

Exactly! First of all it needs to stay simple and uncluttered – but at the same time have what you need as an animator. It is not easy but it can be done I’m sure.

Oh, now I see! Thanks for explaining again. 🙂

Actually this is how it works on purpose. Imported frames are basically meant to be for reference, so normally you would have your drawings (done in Animation Paper) on a layer on top. This layer is fully functional with the light-table. And the ref-layer would only show the current frame reference.

But I see your need when importing drawings scanned from paper. Maybe we should make ref-layer frames visible in the light table an option. I’ll give it some thought – I want to make sure we do not have complications turning up when using this in related ways.

I’m curious to understand what you are after, so, your plan was to import your rough animation done on paper – and then do the timing and clean up in Animation Paper, right?

    Thanks a lot Rudy!

Judging from this thread, this pressure loss happens a lot (at least for you guys). So of course we must look into this. The sad thing is that we can’t seem to replicate it here. We need to have it happen here to fix it. We’ll try to create the same environment as you people are having. Any additional info you could imagine being relevant please supply here to help us. Thank you!

Hi Salim! If you are in the default setting, you are in Add Clones mode. This means you should be able to just drag downwards on any of your white original drawings in the x-sheet. That produces light brown “clones” – that is your drawing being held for the number of frames that you drag down. If you do too many you can drag clones upwards again to make them go away.

In “Slide mode” you can drag your originals up or down through the “sea of clones” 🙂

But check out the tutorial videos – it looks like you would benefit from watching them.

If I understand your comment correctly – you just need to know about the “beyond last drawing” feature. 🙂

Just have one BG image in the layer. That could be an imported image of your choice. Set “what to display beyond last drawing” to Freeze. That makes it repeat infinitely. This is explained in the tutorial-videos too if you need more info.

Interesting. Can you explain it a little bit in more detail? What exactly should be coloured in the interface? Or do you mean the drawings (lines) them selves? Would the colors be certain specific colors – what would they represent?

It may be simple for you, but I want to fully understand what you mean. 🙂

Please let me know. 🙂 Thank you!

Sorry for my slowness – I only saw you answer just now. 🙂

That doesn’t make much sense to me. It should work. Strange. What if you try to register again?

    Thanks Mark!

Right click in the X-sheet for an easy access to menu points and functionality is coming soon!

Yes, to select multiple drawings in the x-sheet, you click the first and then shift click the last drawing in the selection you want. Then setting them all on 2’s or stuff like that is coming soon too.

In alpha 1 the “beyond” button is not visible at the end of the longest layer. It will show buttons at alle other (shorter) layers. If you try this with only one layer, that layer is “the longest” and therefore no button. But actually we just changed that, so a button is showing even in the longest layer (coming in alpha 2).

A layer has one color. That’s how it is in Animation Paper. This is to set the layers visually apart. And you can super easily change the whole layers color with a click of a button.

This is also to support your idea of first roughing out your animation in blue. Then work it over as a new pass on top (using say, black). You can then delete your rough blue and then turn your refined black layer to blue – to do another pass in black on top and so on.

The actual colors are not changeable in alpha 1, but they will be soon, so you can get your light blue and orange and whatever color you need.

Yes! You will be able to scrub the playhead in the timeline while hearing the audio scrubbing too.

Hi Alain, that sounds very strange. Frankly it doesn’t make much sense that it would work with marker and brush but not with pencil. Are you sure it is not just a matter of how you set your pencil setting? The minimum and maximum values for the size and opacity should be away from each other to make pressure-change visible. If the min and max are close you will not get any variance in your line – even when pressure is on technically speaking. Sorry of this is obvious to you already. 🙂

No, I mean, you already do have < and > working in alpha 1! So please try to see if you can assign those to the ring?
