KeymasterInteresting. Can you explain it a little bit in more detail? What exactly should be coloured in the interface? Or do you mean the drawings (lines) them selves? Would the colors be certain specific colors – what would they represent?
It may be simple for you, but I want to fully understand what you mean. 🙂
Please let me know. 🙂 Thank you!

KeymasterSorry for my slowness – I only saw you answer just now. 🙂
That doesn’t make much sense to me. It should work. Strange. What if you try to register again?

KeymasterThanks Mark!
Right click in the X-sheet for an easy access to menu points and functionality is coming soon!
Yes, to select multiple drawings in the x-sheet, you click the first and then shift click the last drawing in the selection you want. Then setting them all on 2’s or stuff like that is coming soon too.
In alpha 1 the “beyond” button is not visible at the end of the longest layer. It will show buttons at alle other (shorter) layers. If you try this with only one layer, that layer is “the longest” and therefore no button. But actually we just changed that, so a button is showing even in the longest layer (coming in alpha 2).
A layer has one color. That’s how it is in Animation Paper. This is to set the layers visually apart. And you can super easily change the whole layers color with a click of a button.
This is also to support your idea of first roughing out your animation in blue. Then work it over as a new pass on top (using say, black). You can then delete your rough blue and then turn your refined black layer to blue – to do another pass in black on top and so on.
The actual colors are not changeable in alpha 1, but they will be soon, so you can get your light blue and orange and whatever color you need.

KeymasterYes! You will be able to scrub the playhead in the timeline while hearing the audio scrubbing too.

KeymasterHi Alain, that sounds very strange. Frankly it doesn’t make much sense that it would work with marker and brush but not with pencil. Are you sure it is not just a matter of how you set your pencil setting? The minimum and maximum values for the size and opacity should be away from each other to make pressure-change visible. If the min and max are close you will not get any variance in your line – even when pressure is on technically speaking. Sorry of this is obvious to you already. 🙂

KeymasterNo, I mean, you already do have < and > working in alpha 1! So please try to see if you can assign those to the ring?

Keymaster14) You can do this already (draw outside the frame). If you hit A you will see everything including what is outside the frame – and you will be able to move it into frame iff needed.
15) Sure. On our todo.
16) We are using the what we get from the Wacom with adjusted pressure curve. But if for some reason it feels different anyway, you can set your pressure sensitivity in Wacom settings on an app for app basis.
17) You could try importing a png or jpg – your paper texture. It will come in as a “reference layer”. You can then adjust the opacity of it at the bottom of the layer column in the x-sheet. Of course that doesn’t alter the texture of the pencil, but at least it takes away the super white background like you wanted. Would that work for you?

KeymasterHi Rudy, I am not sure I follow completely. Would it be possible for you to do a screenshot, so I can see what you mean?

KeymasterThanks for this Mateusz! Very good points! I will see what I can do to get this incorporated some how. 🙂 Thanks again!

KeymasterSure!
The reference layer will be adjustable (move/scale) in one of the next alpha updates.
In alpha 1 the default cursor when drawing or erasing is quite transparent and therefore had to see. Others have mentioned this too. We already fixed that, so in alpha 2 the cursor is more visible.
And already (alpha 1) you do have an option for changing the cursor to a dot (smaller but more visible). Did you try that?
Straight lines using a short cut like in PS is also on our todo for an alpha update. 🙂

KeymasterSure, just click the little gizmo at the top of each layer column in the x-sheet. Set your color there.
In PAP black and blue was technically in the same layer, in Animation Paper you have the freedom of them being in separate layers. So much easier to control. I’m sure you need to slightly adjust some habits though. But you can do all the same as you are used to.

KeymasterPAP 4 had a completely different internal system. This new one makes it possible to scale and rotate without any line degradation. Also having drawings outside your frame, without anything being lost or cut off, when moving it back into frame. Many other advantages with this too. But what you talk about is one of the few drawbacks. I would say, that you normally don’t do numerous numbers of lassoes in the same drawing, however, we will look into optimizing these things soon to make sure it works as well as can be.
